LaBram Homes: A Family Legacy, 40 Years in the Making

Our Story

For over forty years, LaBram Homes has been shaped by experience, passion, and family values. What began as a hands-on craft has grown into a multi-generational custom home building legacy, guided by thoughtful design, earned expertise, and a deep respect for the families who choose to build with us. For forty years, experience, passion, and family values have guided every decision, creating homes that reflect not only design excellence.

From the very beginning, LaBram Homes has been grounded in the understanding that longevity is earned. It comes from consistency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to each homeowner’s vision. That foundation is what continues to set us apart today and why this history carries so much meaning for our current and prospective homeowners.

A Foundation Built on Family and Craft

The roots of LaBram Homes trace back to Dale LaBram, a Michigan native who grew up outside of Detroit. Long before LaBram Homes existed, Dale learned the value of craftsmanship, accountability, and pride in honest work. After attending Oakland University, he refined his skills as a carpenter, working hands on in both residential and commercial construction.

These lessons were not theoretical. They were learned on job sites through early mornings, long days, and a commitment to doing things with care and intention. After several years living in Colorado, Dale and his family relocated to Florida to be closer to loved ones and begin a new chapter. In 1986, that chapter became LaBram Homes.

From the start, the focus was never volume. It was quality. One home at a time. Over the next four decades, more than 150 custom homes were built throughout the Tampa Bay area, each reflecting the same principles Dale built the company on: integrity, consistency, and pride in workmanship. These were not just houses. They were homes designed for real families and real lives.

A Passion Passed from Father to Daughter

The LaBram legacy is not only measured in years, but in what has been passed down.

From the age of ten, Elisa LaBram was immersed in the world of home building. Floor plans spread across tables. Job sites that felt familiar. Conversations about design and construction woven into everyday life. She watched her father design homes, draw plans, and solve problems, learning early on that building is as much about people as it is about materials.

That early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for what Elisa calls “putting the puzzle together.” She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Florida State University before building her career in Atlanta, working with commercial design firms on projects ranging from retail build outs and pharmaceutical clean rooms to high-end condominiums. The experience sharpened both her technical expertise and her design sensibility.

In 2004, Elisa returned home to join her father in the family business, bringing with her not only education and experience, but a shared philosophy rooted in trust, collaboration, and long-term thinking.

Carrying the LaBram Legacy Forward

Today, Elisa serves as President of LaBram Homes, leading the company with the same values she grew up watching in action. Building and design are not simply her profession. They are part of who she is. From the first sketch to the final walkthrough, she is deeply involved, guiding clients through one of the most meaningful investments of their lives.

As one of the few female general contractors in the country, Elisa represents both the continuation and the evolution of the LaBram legacy. She blends hands-on construction knowledge with thoughtful design and a deeply personal approach to client relationships.

As a mother of two, Elisa understands that homes are not simply structures. They are where children grow up, milestones are celebrated, and everyday moments quietly become lifelong memories. That perspective influences every decision made at LaBram Homes.

A Concierge Experience Rooted in Relationships

Because LaBram Homes is family owned and family led, our process is built around relationships, not transactions. We take a concierge approach to every custom home, guiding clients from start to finish with care, transparency, and intention.

Clients often come to us with a vision and a lot/property. That vision may be shaped by waterfront living, neighborhood character, or the way a family wants to live day to day. Each home is designed from scratch, thoughtfully tailored to the land, lifestyle, and long-term goals of the homeowner.

Design services are integrated early to align vision and budget from the beginning, creating clarity, confidence, and cohesion throughout the entire process.

Why the LaBram Legacy Matters

LaBram Homes is not built on trends or turnover. It is built on forty years of proven success in the Tampa Bay market, deep coastal building expertise, and two generations committed to the craft of custom home building. That combination creates something rare: a builder with the sophistication of experience and the care of a family legacy.
